No. Our bar is not self-serve. For both legal and safety reasons, only our staff may serve drinks. Under California law, it is prohibited to serve yourself alcohol from a licensed bar, and doing so after hours is strictly illegal.
As outlined in our Policies & Procedures, helping yourself to the bar outside of service hours will result in a $500 per-person fine plus the cost of any bottles opened. We take this policy seriously to protect the integrity of our bar and to ensure fairness for all of our guests.
We kindly ask that you enjoy the bar during its open hours, where our team is always happy to prepare and serve your drinks. If you are arriving at a time when the bar is not open, please reach out in advance and we will do our best to accommodate beverage service.

Due to the age and historic nature of the Imperial Hotel, we do not currently offer a fully ADA-accessible guest room and are unable to accommodate wheelchairs within our overnight accommodations.
Guests with limited mobility may find our Cottage Suites to be a more comfortable option. Theodore and Pinkerton require guests to navigate a short set of stairs leading to the porch, while Jane requires only minimal steps to access the room. We are happy to discuss the layout of each accommodation and help determine which option may best suit your needs.
We do offer accessible parking, an ADA-accessible restroom, and can generally accommodate guests using canes, walkers, and other mobility aids throughout much of the property.
If you require a fully wheelchair-accessible guest room, we recommend contacting our friends at Hotel Rest or The Hanford House, both of which currently offer accessible accommodations.
Please don't hesitate to reach out prior to your stay with any questions regarding accessibility. We are happy to provide additional details and help ensure you have a comfortable visit to Amador City.
